Some of the most important (and
interesting) evenings of our regular Programme are those
dedicated to competitions.
Internal competitions
During each season we hold five 'internal' competitions
between members, all including projectable images (ie slides or
projectable digital images), large prints, and small prints. All
paid-up Members may enter any or all of these categories.
There are four
Club Competitions - two of these are
'Open', ie without a specified subject, and two have a
specified subject chosen by members in advance. The four Club
Competitions are usually judged by the members ourselves.
(Subjects for the 2008/2009 season will be 'Industrial
Heritage', and 'Reflections').
The
Photographer of the Year Competition is our final
competition of the season. This is also 'Open' but is
judged by a visiting speaker or experienced judge.

External competitions
In addition to our internal contests we submit projectable images
to the Shropshire Slide Challenge (between a number of
photographic clubs in the region) and we also hold an annual
'Battle' with our neighbours, the Welshpool Photographic
Club.
