Long Mynd Camera Club - Competitions

Some of the most important (and interesting) evenings of our regular Programme are those dedicated to competitions.

Internal competitions

During each season we hold five internal Club Competitions, three of which are 'Open', ie without a specified subject. The other two Club Competitions have a specified subject chosen by members in advance.

(Subjects for the 2011/2012 season are 'Water's Edge' and 'Close up')

All internal competitions may be entered by paid-up members and include sections for Prints and for Digital Projectable Images.

These competitions are normally judged by experienced, external judges who provide constructive comments on all entries.

The club operates a League Table based on points awarded during the internal Club Competitions. Awards are made to the winners in the following categories - Prints, Digital Projectable Images, Merit Section and Photographer of the Year.

External competitions

In addition to our internal contests we submit Digital Projectable Images to the Shropshire Six Way Photo Battle (between a number of photographic clubs in the region) and we also hold an annual 'Battle' with our neighbours, the Welshpool Photographic Club.
